CMPI seeks interns in NYC

The Center for Media and Peace Initiatives seeks internship candidates pursuing high school or university degrees to join our core team and contribute to the efforts of our NGO in communicating peaceful solutions to global problems.

About CMPI
Founded in 2005 by an international team of professionals and scholars, The Center for Media and Peace Initiatives (CMPI) is a 501(c)(3) independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to the promotion of conflict-resolving media practice around the world.

With a great reliance on its extensive international network, CMPI operates as a facilitator and partner in a wide variety of training projects, publishes and disseminates significant communication scholarship, and advances global communication through research, teaching, advocacy and service.

The Internship
Interns are highly valued members of our staff. Primary Duties will include research and writing, social media management, event planning contributing to our youth journalism outreach program, and fundraising. Projects and responsibilities will vary based on current organizational need and the interests and skills of the intern.
We celebrate the diversity, interests and creativity of our international staff. While we look for interest in English, journalism, policy and international affairs, STEM majors are most welcome to apply.

Interns are asked to come into our office in Manhattan about three days a week for 3-4 hours/day and may be asked to complete assignments at home.
Internships are unpaid, but CMPI will work with schools to give academic credit, if possible, and we are happy to provide references.
