Freedom and progress are not born from silence. Women and the Media workshop represents an unprecedented effort by the Center for Media & Peace Initiatives to help women around the world tell their stories and share experiences with audiences far beyond their borders. Only by making their voices heard, advocating their causes, and expressing their opinions can women become full participants in society. This workshop will be an invaluable resource in encouraging women throughout the world to have a greater say in the matters that most affect their lives.
The workshop, although intended primarily for women who have not had experience in working with the media, is designed for anyone who wants to become more familiar and skilled in dealing with the media. It can be used by women living in rural communities as well as by those in larger metropolitan areas. The workshop is also designed to amplify the voices of women in foreign policy, national security, and international business. It convenes top-level leaders to discuss critical and timely issues in their respective fields, reflect on their professional experiences, and share ideas.
